Dayara Bugyal is situated in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. It is a high-altitude meadow located at an elevation ranging from 3,408 to 3,658 meters (11,181 to 11,975 feet) above sea level. This picturesque alpine meadow is known for its lush greenery, panoramic views of the Himalayas, and is a popular trekking destination in Uttarakhand.
We will pick you up at the Dehradun Train Station parking lot at 6:05 in the morning for the trip to Natin, which will take a total of seven hours. Natin is a picturesque town that is well known for its status as the starting point for the Dayara Bugyal trek. It’s about a 38-kilometer drive from Uttarkashi to get there. It is encircled on all sides by verdant vegetation. The Bhagirathi River follows you all the way to the village as you make your way there. A passageway through the mountains is how one may characterise Raithal. As you reach the top of Moryana, you will be the first person to get a sight of Gangotri’s Shrikanth peak. You may make a halt here if you wish to take photographs of the gorgeous peaks. When you get nearer to Natin, you will have a better opportunity to see the peaks of the surrounding mountains. One of these notable peaks is known as Shrikanth peak. This is the network that we have. The last significant market is located in Uttarkashi, while a lesser one can be found in Bhatwari. Spend the night at a small inn or visit a local family in their home for a unique cultural experience.
Get an early start on the journey by getting up early. The route takes you through some thick vegetation. The path leads to Gui, where you’ll discover oak trees that are both silver and gold in colour. The ascent is gentle and not too difficult. It will take around four to five hours to get to the next site to rest along the way. Since there is no source of water along the path, you will need to carry along two litres of water with you. The campground is surrounded by alpine trees, which is completely different from having mountains nearby. You will discover several quaint village cottages in the area close to the camping spot. Gui provides a vista that is comparable to that of Raithal, with unobstructed views of Shrikanth peak and the Gangotri range. Under the cover of the night, you may refresh your energies as you relax.
The day ahead should go quite well. When the trees have been cleared, the path continues to gradually ascend until you reach Chelapada. This won’t be a very long journey. The campground is located near to a creek, which may be easily accessed. You are responsible for carrying one litre of water with you today. It’s possible that there are snow footprints along the route. In the campground, you will be given with a hot meal. On the Dayara Bugyal Trek, the vista from Bandarpoonch is absolutely breathtaking; nevertheless, there are many more spectacular peaks in the area. After lunch or before evening tea, you are free to explore the surrounding region.
The day of the summit has arrived. You will make it all the way to the top of Dayara today, and then you will make your way back down to your campground. The difficulty of this hike is somewhere in the middle. At the very summit, there is only a single water source. Check to ensure that you have sufficient water. As you make your way down through the woodland, the path begins to widen and opens out onto meadows. You won’t have much choice but to make your way across those vibrantly coloured fields very soon. While you walk over this stunning landscape, which features amazing views of Bandarpoonch or other peaks, you won’t be able to believe that you are getting closer to the summit. There is a possibility of seeing a thin river running through the area. Although if the last ascent is challenging, it is well worth the effort since it will reward you with breathtaking panoramas of Dodital. After that, you will arrive at the Gidara pass, which marks the beginning of the journey to Gidara Bugyal and Pichkiya. Before heading back to the campground, you are free to take your time and appreciate the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you. You are welcome to bring your own lunch with you. Camp out for the night in the Nayata location.
Your trek across the mountains of Dayara Bugyal comes to a conclusion today. Congratulations! Wake up early and begin packing your things in preparation for the journey down to Raithal. Throughout the path, your recollections of the days you spent climbing might come flooding back to you. It would seem like the summits of the mountains are trying to get your attention. Natin is a vibrant place that is teeming with children and villagers. Lunch will be served to you here, and it will be hot and wonderful. Spend the night in the guesthouse that Natin has provided.
Take pleasure in your last cup of morning tea at Natin. Take comfort in the kind wishes sent to you by your fellow hikers. After getting everyone together for a picture, you may then get in the taxi that will bring you back to Dehradun at 6:30 in the morning. You will go beside the Bhagirathi River, which served as your guide for the whole of the walk, as it will lead you between the valleys and mountains along the way. You are not permitted to have either breakfast or lunch while you are awake throughout the day. We should get in Dehradun between 3 and 4 in the afternoon. You are free to go on with the rest of your trip back to where you started from here. You will remember many exciting moments from your time in the mountains, and you will make a commitment to visit them again.

Directions to go to Dehradun:
The best time to trek to Dayara Bugyal is during the summer months from May to June and the autumn months from September to November. During these times, the weather is generally pleasant, and the meadows are lush green or adorned with autumn colors.
Dayara Bugyal ranges in altitude from approximately 3,408 meters (11,181 feet) to 3,658 meters (11,975 feet) above sea level.
Permits are typically required for trekking in Uttarakhand. These can be obtained from the Forest Department or local authorities in Uttarkashi or nearby villages like Barsu, which is the starting point for the trek.
As you climb to higher altitudes, the air grows thinner and less oxygen is present. The amount of oxygen in our blood is equivalent to the proportion of haemoglobin that is saturated with oxygen. At altitudes above around 2,100 metres (7,000 feet), the amount of oxygen carried by our blood starts to decrease. At the same time, the human body possesses both immediate and long-term adaptations to altitude that help it somewhat compensate for the shortage of oxygen.

Once you run through this list, don’t miss this ultimate guide on what gear to take on a trek. It contains tips on what gear to choose, where to get it from and how much to spend on it.
Our only tip: Keep your backpack light. Trekgoindia practices low impact sustainable trekking in every aspect of the trek. Carrying your own personal backpack reduces your impact on the mountains by 20%. We expect all our trekkers to carry their own backpacks unless they have a justifiable reason not to.
Carry these medicines with you, easily accessible at all times. Do not take any medicine unless you have consulted your trek leader.
Our trek leaders carry a high altitude medical kit with them which also consist of Life Saving Drugs. If there is an emergency our trek leaders know how to tackle it. Meanwhile, contact your trek leader before consuming any of these medicines listed here.
Pro Tip: We find that these medicines by trekkers are rarely used. But you cannot do away with them. At the end of the trek please donate unused medicines to your trek leader. Some of these medicines get distributed to villages on the trek and some are added to the Trekgoindia medical kit.
In the normal course of things, IndianTreks anticipates that you will be the one to carry your own personal gear; but, if you want to unload your backpack, you may give it to the mule.

In the unlikely event that TrekGoIndia cancels a trek prior to the scheduled departure date:
While it is extremely rare for TrekGoIndia to cancel a trek, we understand that unforeseen circumstances or natural disasters may occasionally require us to do so before the scheduled departure. These circumstances could include continuous rain or snow, thunderstorms, snowstorms, landslides, floods, earthquakes, or any other natural calamity that poses a risk to the safety of our trekkers. Additionally, unforeseeable events such as local riots, curfews, pandemics, lockdowns, government orders, or any similar situations that compromise the safety of the trekking experience may also necessitate a cancellation.
In the event of such a cancellation, TrekGoIndia will provide you with a voucher equivalent to the amount you paid for the trek. This voucher can be redeemed for any of our treks within the next year, allowing you to still enjoy an adventure with us at a later date.
Note
The issuance of a voucher is not applicable in situations where you are required to descend from the trek for any reason. The trek leader may make the decision to send you down from the trek due to factors such as insufficient fitness level, symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), high blood pressure, exceeding the designated turn-around-time, health concerns, or if you are found smoking, drinking, or violating the rules set for the trek. In such cases, the provision of a voucher does not apply.
In the rare event that TrekGoIndia shifts a trek:
We would like to emphasize that weather conditions in high-altitude areas are highly unpredictable and can undergo sudden changes at any time, irrespective of the day. Additionally, circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, and lockdowns, may impact the feasibility of conducting a trek. In cases where we are unable to proceed with an event due to such circumstances that are beyond our direct control, we will make every effort to provide you with an alternative trek that is safer and more suitable.
In such situations, we will issue a voucher to offset the cost difference between the originally scheduled trek and the alternative trek. This voucher can be redeemed at any time within one year from the date of issue. Please note that a refund fee or reimbursement of the cost difference is not applicable in these cases.
