    Itinerary

DAY 1 – Dehradun to Khanyasni camp
You’ll pass through Nainbagh, Damta, and Naugaon’s small markets. Arrive in Purola at 1:30 p.m. and stop for lunch. Proceed to Sankri via Jarmola after lunch. The back of Kedarkantha can be seen from there. Travel through Jarmola’s pine forest on a scenic zigzag path. After arriving in Mori and passing through a checkpoint called Naitwar, you will be able to enjoy tea or snacks at the Khanyasni campsite.
DAY 2 – Khanyasni camp to Sarutal camp Trek
After breakfast, begin your trek to Pujali and Bitri village by following the right bank of the river Rupin (1500 m). At Bitri, which is 2000 metres above sea level, there are several apple orchards and fields. The villagers’ cultural beliefs and way of life are visible. Wheat is grown here, as well as red rice. The path now leads you through a thick pine forest, with views of the Himachal Mountains and Changsheel Valley from the top of Bitri village. We’ll set up camp a kilometre away in a wide meadow called “Sarutal.” After erecting the camps and preparing provisions, it’s time to retire for the night.
DAY 3 – Sarutal camp to Badang camp Trek
Breakfast will be served at the camp, after which you will begin your trek to Badang camp. A high ridge separates the Rupin and Supin valleys, providing panoramic views of the ranges. The peaks of Himachal can be seen to the north, with humorous views of Swargarohini, a rare mountain with four peaks. Ascend through thick forest areas as you gain altitude. The Rupin and Supin Rivers can be seen along the meandering route, and you’ll come across streams along the way where you can rest. Badang is a broad, green meadow that is ideal for camping. Set up your tents and rest for a night.
DAY 4 – Badang camp to via Vijay Top Dhaldhar camp Trek
After breakfast, begin your trek to Dhaldhar camp via Vijay Top (3700 metres). The climb to the top is steep, but the views of snow-capped mountains and spectacular views of Vishkhopri, Obra valley, and Khimloga Pass are well worth it. Take in the panoramic views before beginning the Dhaldhar camp. The big day has arrived. We’re aiming for a distance of 13 kilometres. The highlight is the climb to Vijay Top, which is close to 3700 metres long. Streams, flowers, and meadows are all present in the landscape. The forest is dotted with flowers of every hue imaginable. In the reach, we can see several massive hills. The sun is obscured behind the dense clouds as clouds and mist roll in and out. We arrive at Vijay Top, and the breathtaking view makes it all worthwhile. A total of 3.5 hours have been spent on this project. Dhaldhar is a large meadow and a great camping spot on the Ridge camp site. Set up your tents and rest for a night.
DAY 5 – Dhaldhar camp to Devbasa camp Trek
The morning views from Dhaldhar are breathtaking, as the rising sun reflects orange light on the hills, enhancing their beauty and making them seem as majestic as they have never been before. Early risers do not overlook the sunrise from this vantage point. Then have breakfast in camp and depart for Devbasa, our next campsite, where you can arrive in 2/3 hours. Now, from Dhaldhar camp, walk for 30 minutes along with a mountain range, passing through meadows, and you’ll be greeted with spectacular views of Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Nalgan. Continue walking around the ridge; it will take more than four hours, and you will see plenty of Rhododendrons.
DAY 6 – Devbasa camp to Baraadsar lake Trek
Today’s trek is the longest on a rugged path, stretching from Devbasa to the Baraadsar meadow; you can choose between two routes. The short one is steep and requires crossing a pass to get to your campsite; the long one requires taking a round of the mountain, and the campsite is 3 hours away from that point. Choose based on your abilities. The trail is very difficult, with cliffs and large boulders, and you can see the path on the other side of the mountain is made up of rocks, indicating that it is a peak climb. The weather is very cold here, so bring plenty of warm clothing.
DAY 7 – Devbasa camp via lower sural to Kasla Trek and back to Sankri
Have breakfast and leave early to begin your trek through Lower Sural, descend until the terrain becomes steep, cross this portion of your trek and continue on to meadows and then into pine forest, where you will trek under the shade of trees. When the forest stops, you will come across Rajma and Wheat fields. You will now be in Rahla village, where you will see people working in fields and herds of sheep grazing. Take a break here for lunch and then go on to Kasla village; the descent is quick and there are several streams to see. The path is steep and takes about an hour to reach Kasla. There is a vehicle that runs from Kasla to Sankri, which is a lovely town known for its mini market and as the starting point for many treks. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel while admiring the beauty of this place.
DAY 8 – Sankri to Dehradun
Today is your last breakfast with our team on this trek. The certificates will be presented, and after some lovely photographs, Sankri will bid you all farewell.

    Safety
Points to remember for safety in the trek:
    • It is essential that you arrive at the starting point of any hike or excursion in the best possible physical condition and readiness.
    • The hike is not tough; in fact, if you can keep both your feet and your mind calm and strong during the journey, you will discover that the hike is rather simple.
    • When you are out on a hike, bear in mind that you may not always be with your guide and that you may not always be on the correct trail.
    • The majority of individuals glance both where they are going and where they are going while they are walking; this might produce twitching in your legs, which can make the whole journey difficult.
    • It is imperative that you see your physician if you are experiencing any kind of health issue.
    Fitness

As you climb to higher altitudes, the air grows thinner and less oxygen is present. The amount of oxygen in our blood is equivalent to the proportion of haemoglobin that is saturated with oxygen. At altitudes above around 2,100 metres (7,000 feet), the amount of oxygen carried by our blood starts to decrease. At the same time, the human body possesses both immediate and long-term adaptations to altitude that help it somewhat compensate for the shortage of oxygen.

A Great First Trek for Anyone Who Wants to Get Into Hiking:

    1. The Kedarkantha Trip is a Moderate level trek in terms of fitness requirements. The track is well-marked and has only modest inclines and declines. Water fountains may be seen at various points throughout the path. However, it’s still best to be ready if you’re planning your first major Himalayan trekking adventure. Here is a plan for getting in shape for the trip.
    2. Our hikes are typically designed such that you cover around 9 kilometres in six hours, however this might vary somewhat depending on the terrain. It’s about the same as walking 6 kilometres an hour over the plains, therefore the speed is around 1.5 kilometres per hour.
    3. Following this plan, you may train yourself to run 3 kilometres in 30 minutes. Always begin your workout routine with some light stretching and warm-up moves.

In the unlikely event that TrekGoIndia cancels a trek prior to the scheduled departure date:

These circumstances could include continuous rain or snow, thunderstorms, snowstorms, landslides, floods, earthquakes, or any other natural calamity that poses a risk to the safety of our trekkers. Additionally, unforeseeable events such as local riots, curfews, pandemics, lockdowns, government orders, or any similar situations that compromise the safety of the trekking experience may also necessitate a cancellation.

The trek leader may make the decision to send you down from the trek due to factors such as insufficient fitness level, symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), high blood pressure, exceeding the designated turn-around-time, health concerns, or if you are found smoking, drinking, or violating the rules set for the trek. In such cases, the provision of a voucher does not apply.

In the rare event that TrekGoIndia shifts a trek:

We would like to emphasize that weather conditions in high-altitude areas are highly unpredictable and can undergo sudden changes at any time, irrespective of the day. Additionally, circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, and lockdowns, may impact the feasibility of conducting a trek. In cases where we are unable to proceed with an event due to such circumstances that are beyond our direct control, we will make every effort to provide you with an alternative trek that is safer and more suitable.

In such situations, we will issue a voucher to offset the cost difference between the originally scheduled trek and the alternative trek. This voucher can be redeemed at any time within one year from the date of issue. Please note that a refund fee or reimbursement of the cost difference is not applicable in these cases.
